Our fabulous staff

Staff and Management

The Nursery is managed by Deborah Thompson who holds a Certificate in Early Years Practice (level 4) and Diploma in Pre-School Practice (Cache / NVQ3 Equiv) and has many years childcare experience.  She is a mother of two and involved in the local community.
We have a dedicated team of staff, most of the permanent staff hold at least a Certificate in Pre-School Practice (level 2/3) qualification and they are committed to training and making a career in Childcare.  All staff have had DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks and are registered with Ofsted.

Mrs Kate Woods - Nursery Assistant and Keyworker

Miss Gemma Fowler - Nursery Assistant and keyworker

Miss Lucy Russell - Trainee Nursery Assistant

Ms Lara Hudd - Nursery Assistant

The Nursery is supported by a Committee of volunteer parents.  All new parents are automatically invited to join the Committee.


Speech & Language

Co-ordinator on-site 

We are very lucky to have Moira Gilbert on our team.  She has over 10 years experience working with Early Years children and many accredited certificates specialising in Speech and Language including; Makaton, Autism and Dyslexia Awareness. 

Moira runs small classes at the Nursery to support children with speech and language difficulties.

She has attended many accredited courses and is currently working towards Level 3 SEN Award.  Debbie has a gift for picking up on early concerns to ensure that the right professionals are brought in to help the child as early as possible, supporting EHCP applications when needed.   This is to  ensure the  correct provisions are put in place for when they start school.  If you have any concerns about your child you are welcome to email Debbie on

Debbie Thompson is our SENCO who has over 18 years experience working with Eary Years children and has specialised in Special Needs and Inclusion for 15 of them.
