‘ The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go. ’ Dr. Seuss

At Lovel End Nursery, we believe that a love of reading is one of the greatest gifts we can give children in their early years.
Sharing books helps to spark imagination, build language skills, and lay the foundations for a lifelong enjoyment of stories.
Our nursery book library is always available for children and families to borrow from, and we also enjoy regular visits to the village library where children can explore a wider range of books in a real-world setting. Please do feel free to add to our library if you have any spare copies of favourites you wish to share with our Nursery community.
To support families further, we have included a link to the recommended list of 100 Books All Children Should Read by Age 5, providing inspiration and guidance for nurturing a rich reading journey at home.

Chalfont St Peter Community Library welcomes our children on a regular basis to borrow and return books for the nursery, read and craft. There is no charge to loan books once registered (which is also free) and they offer a range of craft activities for children to enjoy when visiting.

A firm favourite is also our Mystery Reader sessions. We invite parents, carers and family members to the Nursery to share a book with the children. The children love the surprise! Parents, please do keep an eye on the newsletter for more information.
