Lovel End Nursery
PRE-SCHOOL

Communication
As a small setting your child will get to know and become familiar with all members of staff. They will be allocated a colour group and a keyworker during the admissions process. The role of a keyworker is to help the child feel known, understood, cared about, and safe. Their keyworker will help to foster and secure a trusting bond, to support their emotional well-being, development, and learning and become one of the main points of contact for parents and caregivers.

Their keyworker is a consistent and familliar face who will focus on their individual needs, monitoring their progress and provide a "secure base" for exploration. They will also become your first point of contact at the Nursery for any questions or queries you may have regarding your child

- Each week, Mrs Cooley sends a detailed newsletter which contains input from each keyworker on what their group have been doing, general updates from the nursery and lots of photos! It has insights into the book of the week, key vocabulary and what's been of focus that week. Here you will also find information on show and tell and any actions for the week ahead. A calendar of events is included each week.
- Virtual parent consultations with your child's keyworker take place in October and March
- A detailed end of year report comes home in July
- Where face to face contact with parents or caregivers is limited (for example children also use wraparound care or childminders) a communication book will be popped in their book bag.
- Generic updates will be made on our social media pages and the website
The nursery has an open door policy and staff are always available to answer any questions or queries you may have regarding your child at drop off or pick up. If you would like a longer appointment, or to discuss something in private please email Mrs Cooley: manager@lovelendnursery.com to organise a convenient time.
